2008-07-20 11:56:10: A little gap in the action now. There are some very nice wild raspberries on the edge of the forest just behind my tent here.... Still a lovely morning with sunshine and a few clouds and a pleasant breeze, just right for relay running and viewing.

2008-07-20 11:50:18: FIN leads at the next split by 19 secs from FRA, then RUS, SVK, LAT, UKR (31), SWE, DEN, HUN,, GBR, NOR, GER, CZE, SUI (59), AUT, BEL, EST, JPN, AUS, NZL, POL, ROM (1.29), LTU, CAN, BUL, SLO in that order.
2008-07-20 11:43:54: Winning women's team Finland were 7th after the first leg and 5th after the second. Russia were 1st and 3rd before finishing 2nd. Sweden were 2nd and 2nd before finishing 3rd (if you can follow my meaning)..
2008-07-20 11:42:15: About 15 minutes until we next see the men at a TV control. Spain will be 19th in the women's.
2008-07-20 11:40:51: Lithuania are 18th in the finish in the women's relay.
2008-07-20 11:39:49: Pasi Ikonen FIN in front at the 4th control, then 27 teams within 45 seconds.
2008-07-20 11:37:28: FRA finishes 14th in the women's relay, and GER in 15th. 16th will be UKR and 17th will be BUL.
2008-07-20 11:36:27: ROM, FIN and LAT were the first to punch at the second control. Several fancied teams 30-40 seconds down, but that is also due to forking.
2008-07-20 11:35:38: HUN, SVK and GBR finish in close succession in 10th, 11th and 12th places. EST comes into 13th place.
2008-07-20 11:32:31: So the runners in the forest in the men's race. China's women have made huge strides forward to take a sensational 7th place in the relay here.
2008-07-20 11:28:32: CHN will be 7th in the women's race, followed by AUS and LAT. Just over 1 minute to the men's start.

2008-07-20 11:27:22: SWE have Erik Ohlund, Martin Johansson and Peter Oberg. FIN have Pasi Ikonen, Jarkko Huovila and tero Fohr. NOR have Lars Skjeset, Anders Nordberg and Oystein Kvaal Osterbo. SUI have Baptiste Rollier, Matthias Merz and Daniel Hubmann, FRA have Francois Gonon, Damien Renard and Thierry Gueorgiou and GBR have Graham Gristwood, Jon Duncan and Jamie Stevenson.
2008-07-20 11:24:49: RUS have one change from the team which has brought them gold for the last two years - first leg will be European long distance champion Dmitry Tsvetkov,. Andrey Khramov and Valentin Novikov go 2 and 3. So that's a class team again to defend their title.
2008-07-20 11:22:50: The men have 2 legs of 7.4-7.6 km with 350 m climb and the last leg 8.1-8.4 km with 400 m climb. Total time is anticipated to be 134 minutes.
