With reference to the IOF Competition Rules (article 26.6), the listed areas are embargoed for all potential WOC 2008 team members (runners, team leader, coach, doctor, etc.) and other persons which through their knowledge of the terrains or the events may influence the result of WOC 2008 competition.

Spelt out in detail it means that:

no organised orienteering activities may take part in these areas.
no training sessions, i.e. running/races, testing routes.
no-one with potential connection to a team (athlete or other function) may visit the embargoed areas.
areas 1,2 and 5 are totally embargoed and any visit to these areas, even on public roads, is strictly prohibited.

The following areas, also indicated in the map below, are embargoed until further notice. In comparison with the information published in WOC 2008 Bulletin 1, the embargoed areas listed here as numbers 2 (Prostějov) and 14 (Konice) has been enlarged, whereas embargoed areas listed here as numbers 3 (Protivanov), 10 (Bouzov) and 12 (Vsetín) are no more embargoed and are open for orienteering activities.

Sample copies of the latest orienteering maps or of topographical maps 1:25000 of the embargoed areas 1-11 were included in Bulletin 1 and were sent to each Federation in September 2006. The map samples for embargoed areas 12, 13 and 14 were sent to each Federation in March 2007, except for the map “Durana”, which will be sent to each Federation together with Bulletin 2.
